April's Theme: Appreciating The Beginner's Mind
This month I’ll be exploring how we can cultivate the beginner’s mind, to bring more joy and abundance into our lives. In honor of April Fools today, we’ll look at it through the lens of the archetype of The Fool.
The Fool embodies the beginner’s mind.
Much like Frodo in The Lord of the Rings who sets off from The Shire bright-eyed, not knowing he’s about to encounter orcs, evil wizards and a perilous trek to destroy the Ring, The Fool doesn’t know what they don’t know. And sometimes that’s the strongest position to hold!
After all, if we were fully aware of all the challenges on our path, would we even embark?
The Fool in myth represents the wisdom found through blind faith, reckless desire, hopeless romance and wild abandon. It represents playfulness, openness to new experiences and taking the first step into the unknown.
In tarot, the fool is the first card of the deck, represented by the number 0. It shows us at the start of our journey, bright eyed and bushy tailed, with all the hope and wonder in our eyes as we leap!
The Fool embraces out of the box thinking, wild ideas and the power of your imagination to help create the life you desire.
For our meditation for April, how can we each embody aspects of The Fool? Specifically:
🤪how can you remember to be light on your feet?
😜embody a sense of playfulness and wonder in what you do?
🤓not let doubts and fears stop you before you even start?
😂 let you imagination SOAR without letting your critic take over?
This month I’ll come back to referencing the beginner’s mind each Monday and how we can infuse that wisdom into our week!
